I use Mobil 1 which is Dexos certified. It's cheap enough at wally world but I guess any oil that meets the Dexos certification would be just fine. I have a 2011 and it recommends Mobil 1 on the oil fill cap FWIW.

To answer the direct question, Is It OK? Yes it probably is.
Here is a screen shot from the manual, page 11-12
HOWEVER
Here is a screen shot from the manual, page 10-18 stating the recommendation to use Mobil 1 (which is a full syn)
It is your car and you are free to do with it as you please. Personally I use Mobil 1.

Thats why I ask its confusing. My Oil cap just says DEXOS. Dexos could mean any type of oil full synthetic or the usual blend. Im told the blend is what is factory fill.

Mine says Mobil 1. I wonder if it because i have a dry sump and from the picture, it looks like you don't.

IMHO you cant go wrong if you use Mobil 1, it's full synthetic and has the Dexos label on the jug. Problem solved...

there is your answer, cheap base vette probably 2lt. just kidding, i have the same car with a6. on the plus side we only use 5.5 qts. of oil as opposed to ten the dry sumps use. seriously though, i use the amsoil full synthetic oil in my car because its worth the very best. jmo

Just because the oil fill cap says a particular thing, doesn't mean that it is the original cap (if you aren't the original owner). I replaced the LS2 on my '05 last summer with an LS3, and the new engine came with a dexos labelled cap. I replaced it immediately with a Mobil1 cap. I did the same thing with my new '14 (which is dry-sump). I would never use a blend, even if the OM said it was OK. I use Mobil1 in my beater truck, too!

I think this change took place for MY 2012 and only applies to wet sump oilers.

It's ok to use Dexos oil from about 2011 on. This means it can be full synthetic, or a synthetic blend. Altho it may mean very little to the overall lifespan of the engine, earlier year Corvettes had a GM4718M requirement for oil which was not Dexos but was full synthetic (some got Dexos certification later on as well as the GM4718M).
So, for my '08 it's ok to use any GM 4718M oil which may also have Dexos certification. But not a Dexos oil that is a synthetic blend. Your car can use any Dexos certified oil, blend or full synthetic.
