Busted Pucks
I was getting ready to pull the front tire off when the jacking puck busted. I didn't have a chance to place the jack stands under the car yet. Glad I wasn't under it. I was lucky; I could see the bottom of the fender folding in. It looked like it was in slow motion. Scare the heck of me. I just knew I had ripped the fender off when the car fell onto the jack, but no damage. I had these pucks for two years now and when I checked the others I found one with a crack on the side. I got them from a sponsor on the forum, can’t remember which one. Here some pictures and have anyone had this happen.

Seems odd. When I jack my car up, the puck sits flat on the frame rail and flat on the jack. Not sure how that could happen and even if it did crack, I dont see how it would fall off the jack.

How old are your pucks? Mine are 8 years old and was thinking of replacing them as they do get brittle with age.

I was thinking the same thing how old are your pucks? also accidently leaving them in an driving around could have added wear an tear on them I tend to do that a lot

I use a 5" long piece of 2x4, centered on top of the floor jack cup. It works great, and I have never had any problem. Once up high enough, I slip the jack stands in place.

What you have is a hockey puck with a #2 I-screw installed. I have made several sets but always out of new pucks that have not "dried out". The pucks are about $2 at you local hockey rink and another $2 for the eye screws. The hockey pucks work fine but be sure to check them for cracks every so often. They are cheap to make so if cracked just make another one. OBTW never use a hockey puck without the eye screw, they can slip off the frame rail and do major damage to your fender and rocker panel.

I designed and custom made my pucks specifically from a safety viewpoint. I wanted to take no chance that slipping off the jack was possible, including jackstands.
jackstand fits and drops into slot
Large jack fits over external size
Small jack fits internal recess

Looks good but, how do you get the jack stand into the puck if you are jacking at the puck!
