Freaking shops
I try to do all of my own work because you can't trust people to treat your car the way you treat it. I took my car to an audio shop I have used in the past for several other vehicles and when I pick up my car it was covered with hand prints. To top it off the next day I had a flat rear tire and found a speaker screw in it 345/35-18 M/T drag radial. I called them up to tell them about the tire and they offered to have it repaired. I explained that the tire is no longer speed rated if it is patched and that I will have to replace it. Lesson learned, I will never do business with them again.

If/when they refuse, just tell them that you have no alternative but to go to Small Claims Court.
That may change their mind, because Small Claims Courts all over the country are referred to as "plaintiff's court", by attorneys, for obvious reasons.
If that doesn't work, then file a Small Claim Summons. It's easy to do.
Your only issue will be proving to the judge that the screw, and subsequent ruined tire was in fact from the audio shop.
You'll also need something in writing from your tire dealer, explaining why the tire cannot be repaired.
This advice is pro bono.

Pro bono, lololololol!
You will be the first lawyer in my life to say those words. If I could go one whole year without handing money over to a lawyer I think I would faint.

There is absolutely NO REASON what so ever that a total stranger or anyone has to put their hands on your car.
If I see a woman with a nice rack walking in the mall is it ok for me to go up to her and feel her *****? No, why not according to you hand prints seem to be perfectly ok.

It is a rare instance when a business treats customers like they would themselves like to be treated.
My car always goes in clean, as it is at any time.
Hopefully this will enlightened others that I keep my sh*t up!!
A good auto service will respect acknowledge this with respect.
But truthfully I would rather clean the car myself than have somebody wipe a possibly containment rag across the paint of window glass.
The trick is to not get it dirty in the first place...Pigpen!

Last month, I posted a thread of my windshield being replaced.
I thought a couple of the photos would be appropriate for this thread.
Some guys have a real hate on for SafeLite, but I thought they were terrific.
The technician put on gloves before he even touched my 'vette.
He was extremely careful, truly treating my car like it was his own.
When he was finished, he carefully vacuumed, cleaned, wiped finger prints, etc.
When he left, there was no way that anyone, including me, could tell that the car was touched by anyone. I was very impressed.
He won an award for customer service, which included a huge standing poster of himself.
He sets it up for the public to see while he's working. Very professional.

One of the advantages of being in a "Club" is knowing how well shops do things.
In our area, there are some real good and some money hungry dealers. None not really bad like yours.
One of our top dealers for Corvette is Abel Chevrolet in Rio Vista, CA. They help support this forum and RichieRichZ06 is one of our members. They were doing C6 Z06 valve issues before most dealers knew about it. I drive about one hour each way to these guys and never regretted it.
I hope you find a better shop. I would never return to the one that had your car..
