Officer, my shrink told me that for my stress and anxiety that I am allowed to assault others to vent my frustrations as a therapeutic procedure. He gave me this note.

Seriously though, you can have accommodations of some disabilities such as hand controls in a car which do not represent a danger to others the way dark tinted windows do at night.

What ever the situation, don't use youtube or the internet in general as your sole source of legal info.

In my experience, cops are more likely to give me a break and cite me for less than they could have than nail me for something petty like 5 mph over.
Here in Colorado I was at the eye doctor and a late patient came in and she had a summons in her hand for 43 in a 40. Only a serious azz would do that to a driver.

Just an update for those interested;

Removed the tint and got the fix it ticket signed off.

Fought the ticket in court and judge dismissed the fine. He reprimanded the CHP for "wasting the courts time with trivial matters"

A written five over ticket is traffic school eligible IF you haven't had TS in the last 18 months. It will cost for the fine, admin fees and whatever the TS charges but it won't go on your DMV record and thus your Ins Co won't know about it. The tint problem is easily solved, remove it and the fine goes waaaay down.
My thoughts exactly.

Congratulations. I believe that if everyone took the time to go to court there would be a huge change in traffic enforcement as the courts would all adopt your judge's attitude due to the overload of cases to be heard. Very early on in this "resistance" court dates could not even be booked by LEOs within the prescribed time frame to satisfy "speedy trial" laws. The current enforcement works because we're lazy, mail in our money, and allow it to continue.

Well done!

Now go get those tints back on. Go darker this time.
The odds you'll get pulled over again for this are even slimmer now.

What was the reasoning you used in fighting your speeding ticket? I might need this someday.
