Very nicely done!
Don't know if it's still an issue, but years ago it was said that cat converters could get so hot that they'd burn grass underneath cars. I did see one car start a fire underneath. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Awesome Vette! I just got my first Vette a couple of months go at 60 years old so I had to wait a "little" longer than you. So with all due respect, to say that you're a little privileged, would be putting it mildly. I don't mean to sound too preachy but I hope you are careful and have respect for a powerful car not only for yourself but for your girlfriend. I have 2 daughters who are now grown with children of their own but I would be very nervous if their boyfriends back in high school had a Vette of which they were passengers in. Having said that, enjoy the ride and good luck with your new Vette and girl friend!

Very nice. It's good to see that young people like Vettes, too.
I bought a 1968 E-Type Jaguar when I was 17, so I know how you feel. I worked like a dog from the age of 14 to save up for that car, and I hope you did, too (rather than getting it from dad and mom), because that work really made me appreciate the car.
It was so much fun driving it around, but I made the mistake of taking it cruising with a buddy one night, and realized I had no extra seats for girls who wanted to ride along! You would have the same problem with your Vette, but I guess kids don't cruise anymore, and you've already got the passenger seat filled.
