Default GRRRrrrr....

Is every business you deal with on a day to day basis completely incompetent? I took my C6to a GM dealer for an oil change telling them I wanted Mobil 1 synthetic oil only. I wait an hour and then when they give me the bill the 'parts', AKA oil, was $31.00. You guys know that 4L/qts of Mobil 1 is more than $31.00. When I asked him what kind of oil they put in he told me he told them Moblil 1. I asked him to make sure. Guess what? Not only was it not Mobil 1, it wasn't even synthetic but a synthetic blend. Now I sit here waiting for my second oil change today. Grrrrrrr....

You obviously need to find a dealer that can read.

that kinda $hit frustrates me too, but on the bright side:
I guess that's better than them charging you for Mobil 1( dealer prob gets $100 ?) and giving you an unknown blend... Im sure that happens all the time......

I'd try to find a dealer that wants my business bad enough to do it right and treat me right. Fortunately I've bought enough cars from him that my dealer knows that.

I change my oil at an independent garage here in town. They charge me for some rack time and then turn me loose. I even buy my oil at wal-mart. The advantage of a small town. I also know who to blame if it ain't right.....of course we spend a lot of money with them over a years time with the business vehicles....so they treat me nice.

That is why I go to Advance Auto and buy my own oil and filter and change it myself. Not hard. Takes me longer to get it up in the air the it does to change the oil and filter.

Next time tell service manager that you want to see empty containers & all old parts whenever you take car in. When I ran repair shop, we not only did this, but considered this a "piece of mind" service for our customers.

I guess I'm at that age where I would prefer to work in my line of work for a few hours and pay someone else to change it for me. At least the guy in service was honest enough to tell me they put the wrong oil in but who knows if they even changed it again? Is there any way to test what oil you have? That being said, I will never go back there again.

I've had experiences like this. Took the car in to get new tires and had beige interior. Got in and the "A pillar" was covered in hand prints and black gunk. Next to impossible to find a service center that cares as much about your car as you do.

That was fun to clean...

IF you don't want to DIY then bring them the oil and just have them bill you labor, this way you know what's going in.

Unfortunately you've encountered what is all too common with GM Dealers, incompetence.

They're certainly not all bad, but good ones seem to be pretty hard to find.

Try posting on your Regional Forum and get some recommendations from the locals about shops you can trust, and only take your car to a Dealer for warranty repairs.

I would try and find a dealership that sells a lot of Corvette's. Then you most likely will find a dealership that has Corvette specialist. My local dealer has 3or 4 that are the only ones that are allowed on Corvette's. Of course this dealership is a Callaway dealer also, so that helps.
