As it should.
Let me make one thing clear, I voided my power train warranty in the first 800 miles. This was my choice and I am cool with it.
BUT having a headlight issue from poor design is another thing altogether, and I really do not care how old the car is. A faulty poor dangerous design is just that and should be rectified by the manufacture regardless of the age. They sold and designed something that could cost lives from just normal law biding non vehicle involvement.
Like I said I carry the vioided warranty issue with no hesitation but this issue we are discussing is something else.
Crazy world we live in now, and I am not so sure it is any better than out parents.

Does anyone know if GM is under any kind of time limit on the "UBEC" recall for '05-'07 Corvettes? A couple of days ago I went to https://recalls.gm.com/, typed in my VIN, and confirmed that Red is on the list for GM Recall # N130146 / NHTSA Recall # 14V-251 issued on May 28, 2014.
This recall will be six months old next week, and I still have not received my notification letter. The service manager at my dealership tells me they've not received any parts for any of their customers affected by this recall. They're apparently just as much in the dark as I am.
HEY GM! WTF IS GOING ON?

Yep, me too. I stopped by the local dealership, today. I would think that if it is a serious enough issue to warrant a recall, (and losing headlights is pretty serious), that they could figure out a solution within 6 months. I guess someone will have to get killed and then they will decide to do something.

I just called the GM Customer Assistance Center (1-800-630-2438) and spoke with an astoundingly clueless young lady who told me the parts for this UBEC recall are expected to be available at the end of December 2014. When I asked her how many parts might be available then (one, two, ten thousand??) she had no idea.
When I asked why I had not received a formal notification letter, she had no answer. A "Representative Letter" can be viewed at http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/acms/cs...4V251-2051.pdf
I also asked her if there was any time limit under the law that says GM must fix my car. Again, no clue.
About the only thing I can now do to spur this process on might be to ask CF's resident Chevy Cust Svc representative to weigh in on this and see what he/she can do to help us.
HELP !!

True, but that's not quite the same as being required to fix a defect within a specified period of time. So far as we know, GM has not even begun to engineer a fix or produce the parts needed. What's their motivation to do so this year or next?
