Default GM Issues Recall on 2005 - 2007 Model Year Corvettes

If you own a 2005 – 2007 Corvette, take note: General Motors has announced a recall that covers 111,889 Corvettes from those model years for potentially faulty low-beam headlamps.

The recall also includes Corvette models from 2008 to 2013, which will be covered under a Customer Satisfaction Program, according to an official company press release. The company says all repairs will be at no cost to customers.

This happened to me about a year and a half ago. I have a 2007 Z51A6 coupe and the wire broke while I was in a market at night. Lights worked when I went in, didn't work when I came out. It cost $960.88 to have it fixed at an independent show (Corvette Specialists in San Dimas CA). Do you think I can get my money back?

If it is the same part failing that was used from 2005-2013 why are they only recalling 2005-2007?

I have a 2008 C6 M6 Z51 car and this is the EXACT problem I have been having! I have to turn the lights on and off about 20 times sometimes more and finally it "might' come on....I called my dealer down here in Plano TX, and they said my VIN doesnt have any recalls on it. I kindly asked the service advisor to go and check this forum and he said they dont get on to any forums and I started to read him about the 2008's having the "customer satisfactory program" and he said, again sir your VIN doesnt pull up any recalls therefore theres nothing I can do.. So now for some odd reason I'm having to deal with this EVERY SINGLE NIGHT and I'm not really wanting to spend $1K on it to get it fixed when its a FREAKING RECALL!!! What do you guys suggest?

There's a sticky about the C6 recalls.

There's also a separate thread about the low beam problems and recall.
