Default My reverse lights do not work

Hi, My reverse lights just stopped working. I have a 2008 vet, auto. and the lights won't come on. I checked the fuse in the passenger footwell and it is not blown, the one in the engine area is good also. I do have power to the one in the engine area but not in the footwell area. I was told that the fuse in the footwell area will not get power until you place the shifter into "R" with the car on.
Even with the car on and the gear in "R" I still don't get any power to the footwell fuse. Someone is trying to tell me that there is a backup control module located in the fuse box in the footwell area, I can not find any such item. Is my problem the switch located on the transmission or something else. If it is the switch then where exactly is it located and how many pins does it have.
I found a switch under the car on the passenger side of the transmission with a three pin connector, is this the one?
