Default What type of fuel to use for C6?

Hello Everyone.

I haven't purchased fuel yet for my C6 vette, but should I use regular or premium fuel?

My manual says to use premium; however, someone told me I can actually use regular.

Any suggestions? My guess is go with what my manual says.

Oh, and as promised, here is a picture of the "Black Cougar."

You can burn regular but will have reduced performance. Stick with premium non ethanol if you can get it.

I agree. GM designers probably have a better idea what is best for our cars than our friends do.

I use 93 octane Chevron (sometimes Texaco, but it's the same as Chevron). Can't find non-ethanol around here in a top-tier gasoline. I've never tried regular or mid-grade.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I actually may use Costco's premium gas, since it cost less than BP, Shell, and Sunoco.

You might want to consider a different car than a Corvette if cheap gas is your concern. I'm not saying this to be mean, Just sayin'. BTW, congrats on the new car.

Shell or Chevron Techron in 93 octane for the win. Your fuel system will thank you for it.

Shell V Power works well for me. I have heard that the non top tier fuels can screw up your fuel tank sensors.....always want to give baby the best......

You're not being, you're voicing your opinion. I want my fuel system to thank me, so I may just use Shell.

Good color choice! Stick with premium. The extra 20 cents saved per gallon is not worth it

Costco's gas has recently been labeled Top Tier, perfectly fine to use.

high compression motors need premium fuels, your friends don't quite understand the concept. Try googling the internal combustion engine oh by the way, nice car!

Here in Central Pa its Sunoco but there is only one place that sells the legitimate 94 octane within 2 hours of my house, all the other places get their fuel from the same place and add their ingredients. My tuner is seeing 20 to 30 horsepower just in fuels compared to the 94...

Thank you! Actually, the person who told me to use regular is a car salesman, and supposedly owns an 85 corvette.
