Hatch Release Lockout
Went to put the top down on my 427 Vert this week. Set the brake, started the engine, and unhooked the latch in the roof.
Got the message that the trunk partition was not locked in place.
Turned off the car and pressed the hatch release button on the dash, hatch did not release. Tried the hatch release on the Fob, hatch did not release. Tried the hatch release button at the back of the car near the license plate, hatch did not release.
It's almost like the hatch release was prevented from opening.
Reattached the convertible top latch and restarted the car, and the hatch release button finally worked.
Any ideas on why the hatch release was locked out? Maybe someone has a wiring diagram?
Thanks

Top was not fully secured.
Once you re-latched the top using the handle, then access to the trunk was restored.
This is the normal operation of the top/trunk.
One has to be secured before the other will open.
