Call Me Lucky
All this reading of the car cannot start threads and the Battery tender threads led me to look at installing a tender tail. I have a few from the bikes. I noticed the Positive clamp was loose. Apparently there is supposed to be a "special" nut that when tightened squeezes the battery clamp to the post. There was none on the positive. Been driving around with a loose positive clamp
I took the one off the negative and torqued it on the positive and will go to Home Depot (seems they carry the 10 MM 6.1 tension nuts) tomorrow to pick up a few of these "special "lock nuts, Why they could not go with a standard clamp i don;t know.

You also better check for a loose nut on the part that connects the steering wheel to the seat.

I've not had mine off but I've read that the battery connection has a nut that is not flat on the bottom but has a cone shape that works to tighten the connector as it is tightened. I understand that you can not buy just the nut but have to buy a whole cable/connector or else replace the connector with an after market.

Yeah they do but the bottom is not the same cone shape so I bought a few 1/4" brass ferrules and put one under the nut to get a tighter clamp.
I have a couple of nuts coming from an EBAY seller for GM vehicles. they may or may not fit. But the ferrule seems to have done the trick. I did buy another battery extension clamp just in case but I don't want to have to cut cables.
