Default free track tickets

a guy at my work whom i didnt even know came to my department to give me some free tickets to drive my car on the nascar track.
he said he was looking for the guy that owned the blue vette an thought i would like that which i thought was awesome.
so when i got home i started reading the rules on the ticket it says its only for 2 laps with a lead car going 60 to 65 mph an absolutely no passing . so now im thinking thats not even worth my time i will drive faster on the highway getting there maybe i should pass these tickets on to a mini van driver
ok two questions, has anyone ever done this?
an would u keep the tickets an go do it?

I have done it at Talladega superspeedway, the same/similar as you describe with a pace car/truck and no passing. But I hit 160 mph down the backstretch.

You should go, sandbag the car in front, then gas it to triple digits.

I did this a couple of years ago at Kansas Speedway as part of a Red Cross fund raiser for Joplin tornado victims. Rules were a bit different...we got 3 laps and averaged about 80 behind pace vehicles. People spaced out a bit and did some higher speed bursts but no passing was allowed.

Being local, I am going again to do the two lap thing...but not sure it would be worth your time unless you made a day of it and did some shopping/eating at the Legends. One thing to consider is filming from inside...not too many folks get to put their car on a NASCAR track.

nothing wrong with a couple parade laps... don't worry, they only say 60 for insurance... just give yourself a little room to "catch up".

oh... and be ready to want to go for a real track day after this.
