How do you check the engine codes for a 2006 corvette...

Make sure you gas cap is on tight. That's probably the most frequent cause of an engine light.

Just remove it, then tighten two or three clicks and see if the light goes out. Cheap fix too if that's it ... it's free.

The C6 codes can only be read by a code reader. Autozone is one of the many places that will read codes free. Or you can buy a reader for $25 or more. I spent more. I recommend everyone have one of the $25 ones and an internet link to find out what the codes mean rather than an expensive ones that will tell you directly what they mean.

I bought a cheap $20 one off E Bay last year and it lists both the code number and what the code means too so I don't need to look it up. It works on all three of our cars too (the C6, a 2006 Civic and a 2006 VW Jetta)
