Default Deltran Battery Tender Plus

Hope this isn't a dumb question but here goes:

First time I've hooked it up amd it is charging normally according to the instructions, i.e. red light on and not flashing. My question - I assume it's normal for the Tender unit to be quite warm/hot to the touch?

Mine are warm but not too hot to touch and they've been plugged in for years.

My Jr.s run a lot warmer than ambient but not too hot to hold. From something I learned many years ago that would make it in the 130-140 F range. When the battery is fully charged they seem to be more in the 120 range.

RED = not charging
Blinking RED = means charging
Green = Peak status.................

To MachAll 2005 - thanks for the suggestion. i just contacted Deltran and they said that during the charging (red light on steady) the unit can getup to 150 degrees. also, forgot to tell you all that my garage is 100 degrees here in Phoenix so I'm sure that's a factor.

BTW - this morning the green light is flashing and unit is just warm to the touch so looks like everything is cool BUT I was concerned all night about it all and didn't sleep too well. Just another **** Vette owner I guess.

thanks again for your responses.

Flashing green means 80% charged. When fully charged it will go solid green. All sounds normal to me.

BT Jr.:
Red means its charging
Blinking green means it is close to fully charged
Solid green means that it is fully charged

From b09676 "Just another **** Vette owner I guess."

No such thing....just those that have Vetts & those who wish to have one!
