I can say my C6 z51 is better in everyway! Not that I didnt enjoy my GT. The corvette is so much more refined. Its drives with much more confidence. The power with both is good. The LS pulls harder down low. The GT is a high rever up top. With wieght differance the corvtte will most always eat the GTs lunch! I put 2 car lengths on one a month back. Honostly having owned both the corvette wins everwhere, except for the exhaust note of the stang. Last thaught is you can buy a clean C6 for 20k. SO its a super bang for the buck. I get compliments everytime I drive her in magnetic red!

Fwiw..if you get an X plan discount....on the mustang GT....get the mustang....maybe with the upcoming ten speed automatic. Should be a hell of a ride...

Maybe the 6 speed manual if your buying a 2016.

If you buy a grand sport corvette...the. Go for the 6 speed manual only.

As gentleman above posted Mustangs have traditionally compo'd to Camaros...sure, throw in Dodge Chargers/Challengers these days. I have yet to drive a 2016 Pony GT (and damn this thread is old, fellas) but I can bet for a dollar the new Camaro SS hands the 2016 GT it's a$$ time and again.
