Got a nail in my Michelin tire??????
Wife wanted to go for a cruise today and noticed the DIC said right rear tire low pressure so I stopped at local Quick Trip to put some air in it but tire looked fine. Did put some in and when I inspected the tire just what I figured, saw a nail in the tire.
Took Vette back home, low tire pressure warning was gone, and parked it back in garage.
What is my next step, BIL owns local Goodyear Tire store and I can take it to him or do I go to local Michelin tire shop for repair or can it be repaired

Your BiL might do it free. But I'd take it to wherever you bought the tires.
The tire has to be unmounted and the tire patched on the inside. It's just like patching any other tire ... nothing particularly special about it because it's on a Vette. Pretty sure it can be patched even if it's a runflat, but you didn't say whether it is or not.

RFT or not it should fix without a hassle.....I had the same thing happen to me last month....put some air in the tire took it down to the tire store and they patched it from the inside......no problems since. Mine are Potenza RFT's.....

As long as it's a inch away from the sidewall you should be fine. As others have stated, tire must be removed and patched from the inside. If you have a Discount Tire nearby, they will most likely do it for free.

lleave the nail in . I had one in mine and it lost 2 lbs a week . finally had it repaired and patched on the inside. It can be plugged but you lose your speed rating and if its not done right all kinds of bad stuff happens. Even if its done right your taking a chance . Best to have it patched from the inside.

Holes in Runflats can be patched exactly same way that NonRFs--meaning if the hole is reparable in a NonRF, the same hole in the same place is reparable in a RF. Depending on brand, there may be a very SMALL margin next to the tread edge that is less reparable.
In my experience, it has not made one whit of difference on the life of the tire (I don't track any of my cars). In fact, conservatively estimating, I probably have over a hundred K on patched (not simply plugged) tires.
I agree with the comment about leaving the screw in the tire and let them pull it out.

My advice...do not ever take the nail/screw out of the tire. Let the tire shop do that...and soon.

There is some good info here.

May or may not affect speed rating of tire depending on your view.

Ended up taking car to local Michelin dealer on advice of BIL, he said his shop could patch it but Michelin has a special patch for RF that if it were his he would do as well particularly since not that many miles on them
Went to local Michelin dealer and $25 and tire good as new

They treated you better than the Goodyear store treated me. I got a large screw in my RF original Goodyear Runflat tire and I jacked the car up at home, removed the tire and took it to the Goodyear store. They fixed it and charged me $47 for the repair. I didn't complain since that store was the only place I could find that would work on a Runflat tire! I had no idea it was so hard to get people to fix a Runflat tire (at least here where I live). We don't have a local Discount Tire Store unfortunately. I must have called six tire stores with no luck getting someone to patch my Runflat Goodyear tire. The Goodyear store that fixed it only had one man who worked on Runflat tires.
