chrome wheel wax and car wax
What wax are most guys using for each? Can you use any clear coat safe wax on the wheels? Prefer something I can buy at an auto store versus over the net.

I use rejex over a STRONG soap cleaned car, then just 15$ maguires gold coast works great on the car and chrome wheels. There are probably at least a hundred or so waxes on the market.I like the above mentioned because they go on easy and come off easy.Lasts long IF you dont wash your car w/ alot of soap.Strong soap takes the wax back off And just so nobody gets excited i'll add JMOP

Advance Auto sells Griots Garage which is a pretty good product. I've used their buttery wax which is good along with their interior cleaner, VRT spray and leather conditioner. This is probably as good as you will get at a local store. I like Adams stuff which can be bought at various corvette events. But its a little pricy. Its also available online. Their detail spray is the best I've found. And their glaze is fabulous I think Griots is close to as good as Adams stuff but not quite. It's not as expensive either. But it still costs more than Meguiars or Mothers or Turtle Wax

You have several choices in paint care ..... waxes, sealants, and coatings. A traditional wax is often preferred for that wet just waxed look and depth to the paint. Sealants (synthetic waxes) and coatings are much more durable and will protect much longer. For wheels specifically, I would recommend a coating for longest protection or a sealant if the costs of the coating are prohibitive. Unfortunately the high heat will remove a traditional 'nuba wax quickly on wheels and reapplication will be needed more often.
