Default Trustworthy General Maintenance

Hello all, I'm a new 09 C6 vette owner since March, in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada and was wondering if there's any other members near me and who they trust for general maintenance, tune ups etc. on their ride. Love this car and don't want to trust it to any shop not worthy. Thanks a lot. If you are close and want to email erthre@hotmail.com

Most of us have found that if you want the maintenance done right you do it yourself. It's very easy. Tune ups are a job of the past. Read your manual and you will see spark plugs last a life time for some of us. Other than changing oil there isn't much to do unless you have problems.

Good luck with your new to you C6.

Thanks for the tip... you're right. I'm good enough with a wrench to take care of the minor things. I am considering an exhaust mod though which I won't tackle myself. Any tips for that?

I just installed a Corsa Sport system on my 2005 C6. I did it at home in my garage. I used four jack stands and a floor jack. It took a 3 or so hours. I'm 75 years old. If I did it so can you.

I applaud you! There aren't too many of us in our 70s that can crawl around under a car anymore much less bend over an engine with our arthritus and sciatica.

My '90 Vert needed a new set of injectors and a job that should take about 3-4 hours took me 20 over 4 weeks. Thats when I threw in the towel, sold the car and bought a new '13 with a warranty that should last longer than me. LOL

That's too funny, well Clint said it best: A man's gotta know his limitations .... lol

Hey Les... Mucho kudos to you. You are tempting me. I need 2 more jack stands though. I guess I should jack it up first and have a real good look under there. The Corsa sport is the exhaust I'm drooling over as well. Are you happy with it? And by the way. I'm not 75 but I am turning 60 this year.

Yes I'm very happy with it. The best part is no drone.
