Default C6 automatic - what is the best car I can get? Gran Sport?

I must have automatic for my disability. So far, the Grand Sport seems to come with an optional auto, better rear gears and cooler wheels/tires.
Looking for a car to find in the used market, not order new.
Also a must is steering audio controls.
I'd really love to have all this with NO NAVIGATION
So, aside from base C6 with an auto, what higher performance option could be had with an automatic? And what model years? I'm not looking for super rare, just a step up / different from base model, and everything I found is manual trans only.
thanks for any education!

Get a GS. Great handling, stopping power, widebody looks, you can take the top off, A6 available. Arguably the best looking C6 w/ the exception of the ZR1, which was the King of the Hill. Best selling C6 MYs '10 thru '13 for very good reasons.

Chief.....I was in a similar boat late last year. Looking for a loaded C6 with A6 trans. Wanted a Grand Sport but budget said base coupe. Drove several base cars and was pulling the trigger on a 2010, put a deposit on it and the dealer sold it out from under me. Next day found a local GS ...loaded with options, my color...Torch Red. Test drove it and bought it. No regrets. There is always an ongoing argument on the forum between the base coupe and GS guys. I love the look of the wide body and the gills, front air intake, wide *** rear tires etc. Definitely get the NPP exhaust and HUD options. The Z16 pkg(Grand Sport)has suspension and brake upgrades over a base. Many don't view the difference as worth the extra money you will pay. It is a subjective thing. I love my GS. C6's were made from 2005-13 and the GS model only made in 2010-13. Is it rare? No....but may have some significance far in the future. The only negative I have is that the two tire sizes cannot be rotated and tires are pricier. I can live with that. You don't often hear a GS owner say they wish they had bought a base

If you want an auto, you will be limited to a base or Grand Sport. The Z06 and ZR1 models (C6) only come with manual transmissions. Even the 427 model was limited to a manual gearbox.

The Grand Sport, excluding looks, is very similar to a base car with the Z51 package. The Z51 adds different brakes, springs, etc. and tends to ride a bit harsher but handles better.

The Grand Sport package takes some from the Z51 package and some from the Z06 package along with the additional body panel enhancements.

One other thing, the Grand Sport tires are way bigger and cost more to replace. It's an important consideration since the tires for these cars are typically sticky and don't last as long as your regular grocery-getter might.

I didn't see any budgetary restraints, so if that is not an issue, I'd most certainly go for the 2013 GS.

I always advise folks to buy the very latest model year they can afford, because each year brings new improvements, no matter how minor.

With a 2013, if nothing else, you'll get the 60th Anniversary Edition badges, emblems, Sill Plates, etc.

Also, though you may not need a Navagation system, or upgraded audio system, most 2013 models have that because it came as no extra charge even in a 2LT package.

What ever you choose, good luck, and post some photos of your purchase!

Last time I looked, there were no All Season tires available in the GS sizes.

We bought a 2009 Z51 coupe and love it, but starting in 2010 you had to buy the GS to get the performance rear axle ratio.

If you need the A/S tires, perhaps you can drive a 2010+ base model and see if it's peppy enough for you. The difference is not great.
