I stink...at drag racing
Well it was 90F and one heck of a head wind but 12.72 was my best.
With traction control off I would launch and the car would nose dive( like blah), then when it hit second(too hard) lots of wheel spin.
Car looked good though....

Car looks great. A lot of facts come into play. DA-temp-rack prep-tire pressure. To be honest I've on;y seen stock C6's run 12.4-6 with most drivers. What were your 60' times. You want to be at or under 2. A tenth down there is about .2 on the big end. Which track were you at?

was this your first time? prolly....thats really not bad.....my first time was horrible...i ran the light, spun the entire 1st gear, missed 2nd ,,,i mean terrible...ppl actually laughed...lili by lil im getting btr,,,im on my 40th pass....and im up to 1.90 60ft on street tires....search in here,,,there are some experts that can give you some great advice.......key element? practice...the more passes you make the better youl be.....there are just way too many factors in making a great pass...tires, tires pressure, clutch, shifting, staging, etc etc...
dont give up,,,keep trying,,ul get a lot better

The point is that you were out enjoying the car. It's the fun factor, not the numbers for the majority of us. Car looks great and I'm sure going down the track was a thrill.

it was fun, your right. Corvettes are AWESOME!
After that hot day, I kept the top up, cranked the air and cruised home listening to my favorite tunes. I'll be back.

Your 60' wasn't terribly bad considering the heat pulling timing, but that and the headwind sure took it's toll on your MPH. A cooler and calmer day next time should get you near 120.
More practice will drop those times a bunch. The fun is in the challenge it presents.
Be safe and only turn off TC. AH can save your butt if you get in trouble, so leave it on.

It's been said...your 60' was not bad. It was either a heck of a head wind, or you were short shifting. I find, that if I go by the engine sound...I always shift very early. Of course, the spin and wheelhop in 2nd is hard to deal with. I usually get out of it too much and just about have to start over.

Here is what your tines are corrected for DA
Correct your ET and MPH using the DA (Beta Testing)
Density Altitude:
feet above sea level
1/4 mile ET: 12.7295
seconds
1/4 mile trap speed: 114.85
MPH
Stock and Mildly Modified Naturally Aspirated Engines
12.279 @ 119.15 MPH
Extensively Modified Naturally Aspirated Engines
12.415 @ 117.846 MPH
Extensively Modified Supercharged and Turbocharged Engines
12.554 @ 116.448 MPH

Those times are not bad for your first time to a drag strip, on street tires and bone stock and 90+ degrees. Drag racing takes practice, that's what makes it fun (addicting)
Here is my simplified answer to launching an stick car, as every car is different. With the M6 you want to leave with as much rpm as you can (without spinning the tires) and at the same time let the clutch out as fast as you can( without spinning the tires)
Sounds easy You need to modulate the clutch and rpm and that's a workout with street tires, if you start to spin you can feather the throttle or short shift, both will cost you time but its a learning experience. Like I said, those times are pretty damn good for your first time out.

I wish our strip was a 1/4 mile not 1000 feet. My 10.4 sec 1000 feet at 104 mph calculates to a 12.5 1/4, if you assume no increase in speed over the last 320 feet. 12.2 assuming a 10 mph gain over the last 320 ft.
Auto in comp mode. Great traction, only mild slip when it shifted to 2nd on one pass.

60 foot is "okay"
Gotta learn how to maximize traction in 1st gear.
Street tires I pulled a 1.8 stock dimensions
EDIT: Do not run competition mode at a drag strip. All you need is TCS off. Competition mode severely limits active handling. That'll keep your car from going sideways.
Lastly, I've ran at Quaker a long time ago, IIRC the stupid track is UP HILL the last couple hundred of feet. Go to Dragway 42. I always got better times out there with my old car.
