Default Parking Corvette for winter outside in -35

So my new place doesn't have a garage yet but it has outside parking. This ****ing sucks. Garages average around $150 a month. I don't want to pay that.

I have a good car cover though. Winter here is about 5 months long. Lots of snow and temps around -10 to -35.

Should I just bite the bullet and find a garage or just park it outside ?

Bite the bullet. Save yourself the worry of some nut messing with it too.

I'd definitely pay the $150 for three months just to put my mind at ease.

If you want, you can put it in my garage for the winter. I'll take real good care of it.

Go for the garage, you won't be sorry. It will be money well spent. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER leave it outside !!!!!!!!!!!

You paid how many thousands for what is obviously a second or third car and you're seriously thinking about leaving it out in the snow and -35* temps vs spending a whooping $750 for storage?!? Good grief

I won't leave my Vette outside even here in north Alabama, and we're nowhere near as cold as you are in Calgary. Go for the garage. There's no telling how much damage temps that cold would cause.

Only you can make this decision - but finding a garage & spending $750 - seems to me to be the smarter choice.

Whatever it costs...$750 is the math here...you would be NUTS to park that thing outside. It might be the worst mistake you make with that car to park it outside in that Siberian cold.

Well...... It wasn't all that long ago a lot of dealers had Corvettes sitting outside all winter long around here and it didn't seem to hurt them.

My biggest worry would be if you covered it and the wind would cause the cover to flap around and mar the paint.

With a good cover the weather isn't that much of a concern. However, having lived in a condo/apartment situation without a garage, my concern would be other people screwing with the car.

Its $900 for a cold garage. So the temps only get down to -20.

A car cover will keep the snow off

Well, you did ask for opinions. Which you got. Which it appears that you'll ignore.

Oh well.

Drive it in a snow bank, disconnect battery & walk away. Thousand sit outside in the summer & that's harder on them than the cold.
