Gauging Interest: Plug and Play Hyperflash Solution for DRL
So far if you wanted to convert your DRL/Turn signal to LEDs, your only way to prevent hyperflash is to install a load resistor. While this works pretty well for the tail lights, the DRL has the disadvantage of being on the same circuit as the front turn signal. This means the resistor has to dissipate power to the DRL circuit for as long as the car is running which could be hours at a time causing the resistor to get hot enough to melt through plastic surfaces and wire insulation.
There have been some attempts at a time-delay system using relays, but these are bulky, expensive and being electromechanical are not very reliable. We are working on a solid-state solution that would provide the turn signal the proper resistance for 1 second then shut power off to the resistor. When the power is turned back on, the resistor again gets power then shuts off after 1 second. With a flash rate of 80FPS, this setup shows the proper load to the BCM only while the turn signal is activated.
This system would allow use of our Cree High power LED bulbs in the DRL position which produce a pure brilliant color (LED is on Driver's side)
Projected price point for the plug-in DRL harness is $70 if purchased alone or if purchased with the Cree LED DRL/Turn signal bulbs a combo price of $100.
What are your thoughts?

Drifting
Sounds good to me.

Burning Brakes
Is that $70 per side or for both sides?. If it is $70 for both sides, I am interested and would purchase it.
