Did you just change the oil?

My Oil-Change fumes last about 2000 miles. As I understand it, this is a common complaint.

suprised that you went 1000 miles before you actually start smelling it. that said...I've not had this issue with my 05...yet.

The only time I smelled it was after an oil change when some oil burped out of my catch container onto the motor because I forgot to open the vent.

Oil smell went away after oil change by only putting in 5.5 qts in LS3. Chevy discontinued the oil cooler but never changed the 6 qt fill requirement. The stick shows full with 5.5 qts.

This subject came up at the recent Corvette Caravan during a session with the Corvette mechanics. Their recommendation was that we should put in 5 quarts of oil during the oil change, then read the fill on the dip stick and add small quantities of oil until the dip stick reflects full (about 5.5 quarts). They think the smell is from over filling the engine with 6 quarts of oil. They said that if this does not stop the burnt oil smell, suspect the rear engine seal.

I know that my 2012 GS A6 always reflects 1/2 quart over full with a oil change using 6 quarts of oill.

I have this problem with my stock 08. I have tried putting in 5.5 quarts, filling slowly, making sure absolutely no oil spills anywhere, adding a catch can, and nothing works. Still get the smell after every oil change and it lasts a couple thousand miles.
