Just got done painting and installing my Orical led side markers purchased from RPI Designs. I did not want to pay the extra $75 to $200 for the tinted or painted blackout look. I started by sanding the lenses with 1500, cleaning and masking off the areas I did not want painted. Used a solution of 3 parts clear to 1 part black base coat. Painted 3 coats with the black clear solution and then 1 coat of pure clear coat. I was a little worried that I had used 2 much black base as you could not see any leds or silver background after painting. Let dry for a few hours then sand with 2000 and buffed till the shined. To my surprise I plugged them in and there was light. Love the look of the black verses stock red and orange lense.
