Default NPP mufflers

I have a '08 C-6 Vert w/o NPP. Just purchased NPP Mufflers from a '10 C-6 base. Will these mufflers fit an '08? I think I heard something about a revised rear suspension starting in '09 and the exhaust pipe was revised to accomadate the revised susp. To me I think that the '09 and up NPP will fit '05 and later, but '05 to '08 will not fit '09 and later. Am I correct in asssuming this? Or did I get the wrong ones? I want to add the NPP in a box but need to know if the mufflers I bought will fit. Thanks in advance!

I don't think so. 2005-2008 are compatible. 2009-2013 are compatible.

I can see the 05 thru 08 not fitting an 09 thru 13, but what about an 09 thru 13 fitting an 05 thru 08. Is this a possibility? I guess I will have to see for myself by trying to fit them. Unless someone has already tried this setup. Anyone try this??

option 1:
get a 09+ midpipe, has to be removed for muffler install anyways, (I know some say you don't need to remove it, but why make like harder than it needs to be),
usually the midpipe is cheap,
that would be my choice if I were doing it,

option 2:
muffler shop (or you, or else) modify the pipe for ( I believe) the passenger side muffler, people say not a big deal, I did not have to do it.

btw, tons of threads about all that around the forum.

'05 to '08 has a comepletely different configuration at the end of the mid-pipe/front of the overaxle pipe than the '09 up. They do NOT interchange in any combination.

If you change mid-pipes AND overaxle pipes then it doesn't make any difference.

just to be clear, the "overaxle pipes" are not a separate entity but part of the oem muffler assembly, npp otherwise.

one design 05-08, different design 09-13.

Thanks Ed you saved me a lot of leg work. I'll see if I can get the mid-pipe ('10) off the same car I got the mufflers from. I'll check out the other threads too!

Thank you too, Hal. Ok, then mid-pipe it is. It seems to be the best and easiest way out of this mess.
