yes you can as many have done it..even me in my driveway. I went with the b&b fusions which is an aftermarket version of npp. what year is your car? you only need the mufflers and npp in a box.

Installing a system identical to the factory is not economically feasible. You would have to replace the ECM. NPP in a box is the way to go. It doesn't open and close automaticly like the factory system. You have to push a button to open and close but it gives the noise most people want.

I think that Sunset Orange Creations makes a system that can be programed to open and close at specific RPM's through the DIC. Correct me if I'm wrong. BTW, I have the NPP in a box still in the box. Mine are open all the time.

I thought about doing the conversion myself, but the local Corvette shop offered to do the entire job for what it would cost me for just the parts. I decided to let him do it.
He used all GM parts with the exception of the Mild-to-Wild switch and I am very satisfied. I like the ability to control the volume myself.

I have the factory setup with a M2W floor switch. I can't comment on the after market installs but the requirement for a switch isn't a big deal. Mine almost never goes off by itself. If I'm pushing it a little the valve is already open. If it's closed I'm either listening to the stereo at less than 3000 RPM, or my Wife's in the car.
