ordered mine the other day, but i also ordered the power wedge. not knowing anything about the vararam intake, should i have ordered the wedge or not? i was told that the intake alone would suffice for what i'm using it for.

The VaraRam throttle body spacer increases the volume to the intake plenum.

Performance gains are minimal but measurable nonetheless, adding a little hp and torque.

Just make sure you have it installed correctly with no leaks. I got mine with my intake as well and have had no performance issues.

If you are adding these with no tune, give the computer time to adjust itself to the increased airflow. No full throttle runs in very cold weather right away.

SOTP improvements are most notable at freeway speeds.

Yes, but pretty subtle.

Like I said, the most noticeable improvement that I can perceive happens at freeway speeds when the ram-air effect is maximized.

Track testing by Chuck CoW and others showed 2-3 tenths quicker and 2-3 mph faster in the 1/4 mile.

thanks **** Jockey. just one more question. would you bother to go with headers or just leave everything stock?

Definitely go with the headers, especially if you are doing a tune as well.

The only issue relates to the cats/relocation and whether your state (like Cali) inspects for this and fails you.

No- the red bracket was eliminated with the newest (3rd gen) units.

Hopefully you received the install instructions and they will have the mounting details.

Thanks for the info. looking at the picture I just assumed it was something they overlooked during shipping.
