Anyone know what suspension is on stock 2011 GS, FE4 or FE3?

I believe the GS has the Z51 suspension which should be FE3. Code FE4 is for the Z06 model.

My '10 GS glovebox list code FE3 and also calls out Z51. I didn't know FE3 was associated with Z51.

Correct me if I am wrong...

The GS should have Z51 front sway bars and Z06 rears. The shocks should be Z51 all around, unless you have the F55 (MSRC) option.

The build sheet on my 2012 shows FE3 H/D and Z51 Sport Pkg.

All GS's have the FE3 H/D shocks unless your car has the "F55" option. The FE3 fronts are the same front shocks found on the "Z" cars , but the rears are different.

GS is sort of a hybrid of FE3 - Z51 parts and FE4 - Z06 parts, plus unique rear shocks.

Would the FE3 refer to the suspension components and the Z51 to the brake and gearing upgrades?

Z51 was an "orderable" package of many "things".

FE3 springs are one specific component "thing" in that package, as are the J55 HD brakes (that we all refer to as Z51 brakes).

GM did away with the Z51 nomenclature in the late 2,000's (I think 2009) and calls it the Z16 package on the newer cars. If you have Z51 on your 2012 build sheet please post it.

Grand Sports have the Z51 option included. They just don't advertise that the GS includes Z51, but it does. Look at the RPO list on the glove box door. After GM came out with the GS for 2010, they stopped offering the Z51 as a stand alone option, but included it on all Grand Sports. Just think of the Grand Sport as a Z51 on steroids.

Also the alignment specs for the FE3 is the same as the FE1 and FE2, and NOT the same as the FE4(Z06) or FE5(ZR1)

I have the Z51 option on my 2010 GS... It's also indicating FE3...

Here is my build sheet. Z51 is still listed. The GS package is Z16 which includes Z51, FE3 and J56.

My '13 doesn't look like that. It's the 11" x 17" sheet that the assembly line uses. I'll post a pic later.

My 11 GS M6 says FE3 and Z51 on the glove box sticker.

I am not sure if it was mentioned already but the GS has FE3 suspension.
