This morning I got radio but no screen. Restarted car at a red light and everything returned to normal.

Twice before, the entire unit was both dark and silent. But it would restore to full function after several hours.

Question: a glitch in the cars electrical system, or a glitch in the radio unit?

Bud, I never even considered the NAV disk as the source of these malfunctions. You had similar issues, it seems. My car was manufactured in May 2010. So this "update" would have come along later?

I think there is a TSB for this intermittent problem. Maybe it updates the system's firmware. Mine does it occasionally...seems I can power off the radio, wait a couple of minutes and turn it back on. Works almost every time..))

had it happen to me once.. i think these cars just spaz out every once in a while lol
