Who has the most unreliable Vette on the forum?
I was just posting in another thread I made on third gear problems and started thinking, I've got to be in the running. If I dig up the paperwork there were other things replaced under warranty by the original owner, but in 50K miles since purchase (now at 95K) I've dealt with the following:
-Front tie rods replaced
-Cracked radiator needing replaced
-Cracked clutch cover housing (replaced clutch, slave, driveshaft, torque tube, etc)
-Intermittent stereo failure (needed aftermarket unit anyways)
-Fuel door opening assembly failure
-Failed key fob antenna in the glove box
-Low beam headlight failure (recall)
-Column lock issue (this was a real bitch, and dealer had me replacing all kinds of stuff before I knew what was going on... just installed eliminator)
-New and unresolved: 3rd gear synchro issue
-both emblems broke off (replaced front years ago, now need to replace rear soon)
Probably something else I am forgetting, but after all this, I still love this car. In fact, I'll go give her a big hug and a kiss now in hopes that my engine keeps running well.
Let's hear the other horror stories to make me feel better

I bought my car with 64K miles.
I know the previous owners got their use out of it.
The price was so godd that even after fixing anything which has broken, I am still in the good.
Harmonic Balancer
Both axle shafts
Both rear wheel bearings
Low beam Headlight and washer wires
PS over flow tank
Shifter cable
All four tie rod ends
End links
At 123K the car is rock solid and well on its way to 300K.
I get .55 to drive and with all the goodies I have purchased, The car has already more than paid for itself.
Now the money is going to my C7 fund.
I know the previous owners got their use out of it.

I think next year I'll also be unable to resist a C7 any longer.

Clunk in steering- front sway links replaced
Clunk in rear suspension- rear sway links replaced
Both doors rattle- both door strikes defective, replaced
Transparent top rattling/creaking- adjusted per bulletin, 3 trips to dealer
Nav screen blank when starting in cold weather- reprogrammed
Steering wheel memory position inop- reseated connectors and reprogrammed
Vibration in steering wheel from day one- tires finally rebalanced
Both headlight "jiggle" over broken pavement at night- no fix
Trunk gas struts won't hold trunk open- replaced
Year Three:
Oil leak from pan- bolts retorqued
Driver seat rocks/clunks under accel or braking- seat track eventually replaced
Positive battery clamp cracked- eventually replaced
Water pump leaking/slinging coolant- replaced
Year Four:
Gas smell after filling tank- gas cap replaced
Air bag warning light on- replaced driver side seat belt buckle/pretensioner
Seat memory failed- checked connectors and reprogrammed
Rear axle nuts loose again- redid the bulletin fix
Lug nuts developed a "move-stick-move" problem when torqueing- polished where nuts seat
Year Five:
Brake master cylinder leaking fluid into booster during road trip- both replaced
Left Rear axle bearing howling during road trip- limped home and replaced
Passenger visor mirror cover broke hinge- replaced visor
Alignment shifted badly in less than 1 yr- realigned
Sixth year, part way:
Top creaking/popping again, horrible on sunny days. Dealer & I spent 9 months chasing it, might be fixed now.
Hood struts won't hold hood open- replaced
Water pump leaking and slinging coolant again- will replace Monday
Fortunately, the dealer has been good to work with and we bought the $0 ded GMPP, so we have paid almost nothing out of pocket. GMPP expires in a little over a year, uh-oh.

"In honor of jpee"
I don't know why, but I see "ahmer" post a lot about problems. He may chime in. Not discounting in any way anyone else who's had lots of issues.

07 with 138,000 miles.
1. Fuel pump
2. Half shafts gaskets on diff.
3. End links
That is all so far besides non recurring problem with tyranny not engaging.

I hear ya....seriously though, it is very disheartening to hear about so many guys experiencing so many problems with their 'vettes.
I guess I've just been very lucky. Mine will be 2 years old in just 4 more months, and so far, I haven't had a single issue.
It's only been back to the dealer for oil changes, and I expect to require a new set of tires soon, because the stock GY tires are wearing out like crazy.
Annoying, because I drive like I vote, conservatively.
I'll be lucky to get 10,000 miles out of them.

I don't count wear items as problems.
5 sets of tires, 3 sets of rotors and pads, belts, plugs and 4 batteries.
Tires got much better after I got rid of the OEM runcraps.
And I did upgrade the alternator to a 170 A.

Simply stating that I've had no problems with mine. The tranny might fall out next week, but right now, I'm all good.

A 2% of the worse by Bowling Green Engineer
I have a 06 C6 A6 F55 Nav 3LT and this creature has OVER two+ (2+) pages of warranty claims that took four one half (4 1/2) years to repair before the car finally runs well now. At one point this car was invited by Corvette Engineers and spent 3 days at Bowling Green Assembly plant with two Corvette Engineers plus a union shop supervisor and ALL of them could not solve a rattle problem. One engineer with all my other problems said I was in the worse of 2% of all Corvettes. I have listed them before but an idea, I'm on my third differential now. All of problems should have been repaired in two years or less but because of GM's "Delay, delay, and delay" program and crappy unsensible excuses and lies and shifting to unscrulious servivice managers transferred to by GM Customer Service. I had a night mare, even worse was Vette fans who stated that a Vette could do no bad or wrong, probably "garage Queen" owners with less than 3k miles or so on their cars! It's a shame that GM didn't drop one of these bombs on them.
I know what it is like, a real downer!

Actually, that was a smartass remark that I probably shouldn't have made.
There are lots of guys with so many serious issues with their cars.
It's a real shame.
If I was having constant trouble with my 'vette, I would have sold it after the third trip to a dealer for repairs.
Whether that happened in 3 months or 1 year, 3 issues and that car is gone.
I know it's not everyone's solution, but I've reached a point in my life where aggravation like that is just unacceptable.
Life is simply too short.

Regarding the aggravation factor, my grump-meter is pegged out and I'm seriously considering dumping this car. We've had such bad luck with GM vehicles (compared to Japanese) over the decades, that I'll never buy another once except a Corvette. I'd sell this one in a heartbeat, buy a BMW/Porsche and never look back, except for all of our friends in the Corvette world. Can't walk away from all of that.
Maybe the current coolant leak is just a connection instead of the pump itself.

Sorry for all the problems, I have 2008 I purchased new and all I have had go wrong is a leaking water pump, warranty fix, I guess I am lucky. Just wanted to let everyone know some of these don't have any issues.

Despite my troubles, I think your remark was funny and I'm glad you said it. Nice to hear of someone without problems.

I guess you'll be finding out about it tomorrow.
No one could blame you for not wanting another American car.
All my life I've had nothing but American cars. Made me feel more patriotic I guess.
For what ever reason, I've had very few problems with any of them.
Remember the Chevy Beretta? I had a 1991, 2dr coupe. Sold it with about 65,000 miles on it as I did with most of my cars.
Never had a single problem, and yet they were supposed to be very poorly made, and loaded with service issues.
I never owned a car that was re-called. Most of my cars were GM products, Cadillac, Olds, Monte Carlo, Beretta, Impala, etc.
A few were Fords, Mustang, Taurus, Mercury, Escort....again very few issues.
Most of the time, I never went back to the dealer for anything more than routine maintenance.
As I said, I guess I've just been lucky, and do feel badly when I hear stories like yours. I hope this water leak is the last of your problems.

Burning Brakes
09 vert.
Replaced (at Dealers recommendation):
Body control module
Throttle body control module
Engine control module
And permanently removed Chevy "personal audio link" (Chevy accessory)
Car was in shop for approx. 1 month following onset of severe driveability issues.
Today, car still suffers from minor "electronic" gremlins and I have little confidence in it. I worry about getting stuck every time I take the car out. I do use it, but I worry all the time.
Would love to replace it with new one (hoping for better luck) but can not afford to.
Life goes on......

I'd get rid of it, and get anything else, that promises better reliability.
