Default Looking for a shop in Los Angeles for brake certificate

The DMV asked me to provide the brake and light certificate issued by a licensed inspection station.

One go you here can help and tell me where can that be done ?
DMV told me that I can do that at the smog check places, but NO...can't.

Thanks.

Is this for all vehicles in CA.? Have you ever had to provide such a certificate for any other vehicles you own/owned? If not I'd call a Chevy dealer and ask if they have such a certificate to provide you if you pay them to make sure the lights work and the brake pedal provides braking.

I'd also have asked the person at DMV to provide me with a copy of said certificate (blank) for you to take to a mechanic to have certify lights & brakes operational.

Sounds to me more like a jealous DMV employee trying to make you jump through the hoops because you own a Corvette.

Reason # 237 why I don't live in CA. (if this is truly a requirement from the DMV down there).

The only time I had to do a brake and light inspection on a vehicle in Kalifornia was when I registered an officially "totaled" car that I owned. I bought back from the insurance company after body damage which was minor.

That's exactly my case.
So can you recommend for the place ?

And yeah George, no one like Cali but we are still here for the great weather.

Never had to do that, but I would think if it was a DMV requirement they should list inspection stations...
