Run Flat Tires

Run Flat Tires
I'm having a hard time finding run flat all season tires for my Corvette. Michelin has either stopped making or has suspended production of their Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus ZP. I sent an email to Michelin asking if they were going to resume production. But assuming they aren't, I guess I'll have to consider a non-run flat tire. I figure I can carry a can of fix a flat and an air compressor and be good with it.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

We got the Michelin Pilot Super Sports and the handling improvement trumped the NRF and got an unrepairable nail at 3000 on a rear and got to use the road hazard service contract. We have a motor home w/o a spare and NRF tires and have had major tire failures. The handeling trade off going RF is not worth it for us as we can wait a few days for a tire and or wheel. Enjoy your Corvette.

I think that rft's too often get a bad rap on cf. I have them on my vette (Firestone Firehawks) and really like them. They are smooth, quiet, have very good traction etc. My wife and I have two other vehicles with non-rft's, and I honestly can't say that they are any quieter, smoother or more comfortable riding than the rft's on my vette.

I'm giving some thought to the Bridgestone Pole Position run flat tires.
I've owned Bridgestone tires on other cars in the past, and have always been happy with them.
Anyone have any thoughts on Bridgestone?

Try Bridgestone Potenza 960 Runflats

I had Potenzas on my Z06. I liked them a lot. On the last set I had before I sold it, the backs said pole position, and the fronts didn't. I asked here, but no one could tell me what the difference was, or if there even was one.

Unless something new develops, the Bridgestones will be my next set of sneakers.

I have the non run flat Pole Position by Bridgestone. Great tire with all around performance traits.
Check out the comparison review of Max Summer tires.
Reasonable priced too.

I just had Bridgestone Pole Position RFT installed on our GS, I like them so far. Although I see Tire Rack now list them as 'special order'.

If the tread wear warranty is the same as Michelin's it is 50% of the 40,000 miles on cars you can not rotate tires from front to rear.

Tirerack seems to have these in stock (click here), also I would imagine that a discount tire should be able to special order them for you as well.
