Default Cheap replacement battery for my 2011 GS ?

Well, my GS was purchased new in June 2011.

It has now been 3 1/2 years and 11,000 miles later, and the battery won't hold a charge anymore.

If I fully charge it with my charger, it starts fine while driving the car off and on all day long .... but let the car set for 2 or more days, and the battery will then be dead enough where the starter just clicks when trying to start ... charge it, and it's ok again until the car sets for another 2 or more days.

(BTW .... no lights left on at night)

Even a cheap AutoZone battery usually lasts longer than 3 years from my previous experience, so I don't want to drop money on something like an expensive 'Yellow' or 'Red Top' battery.

QUESTION: Can you recommend a cheap replacement battery for this GS that's readily available locally in most metro areas.

Thanks a bunch,
Ron

I would take it back to GM and see if they will put in a new one and discount it....those are 6 year battaries from AC/Delco I'm thinking.....I would not put anything cheap in it due to the importance of the battery in these newer cars.....

And after you get a new battery, invest in a quality battery tender.
You don't need to worry about leaving lights on or anything like that, the C6 has a multitude of memory applications that draw milliamps to maintain their functions, enough draw to drain a battery over a 3-to-4 week period. If you keep a tender on your battery when it is not in use, you could see that 6 year battery survive 7 or 8 years.

I didn't know that ... 6 year prorated battery in these cars!

I checked the internet for AutoZone 'Duralast Gold', Advance Auto 'Autocraft Gold' and Walmart 'Everstart MAXX' .... Seems like these replacement batteries are all between $115 - $123 + tax

Even with the prorated cost on a new OEM battery from the Chevy dealership, I am think it might cost me less than 100 bucks since I am only about half-way to the 6 year point.

Just dropped an Everstart MAXX in my Z51. Forgot the model number, but it's the most powerful of the walmart line. Perfect fit, 3 years replacement / 5 years prorate. No complaint. Cranking strong.
Just make sure to pick up a fresh one with the most recent date on it, as they can sometimes have specimens with quite some shelf life in them already......

Why go "cheap" a good battery can be had for around 120, you get what you pay for, when you need it most is when a cheap battery will let you down. Getting 3 and a half years from a battery in a corvette is pretty good service life. These cars are hard on batteries.

I don't think there is a big difference between batteries and these cars are hard on batteries. My original Delco only lasted 3yrs.

Order this online and pick it up at your local store.

Can't beat that, even though it's a tad weaker than the waly one with 625CCA. Great deal.

Well, I am willing to bet that the Advanced Auto battery will still last as long as the OEM Delco battery that's dead in my GS now.

The autoCraft and Delco are probably made in the same plant. I researched it when I was buying...seemed like Johnson Controls made many of the aftermarket batteries. Can't recall exactly.

I think there is a better coupon code. Try RetailMeNot.com

My group 90 at Advance was $126 that, if i remember, had a few more CCA than stock.

Found a $50 off purchase of $125 or more code which made it $76. Hard to beat.
