this is how to get to the radio and temp control unit,from there it's a breeze. You have auto or man tranny? are you installing aftermarket radio?

I suggest purchasing an adapter harness and the adapter to connect the GMLAN through to the amp for the chime. Dennis at Double D Mods, a forum vendor here can help you with those. Note that the harness is different depending on the stock radio and model year.

Perfect timing for this post. Had a new pioneer double din installed 2 weeks ago and the chime is REALLY driving me crazy. Anyone know which of the harness wires is to the Chime? I'll pull the sucker just to snip that wire at this point.

The chime comes from the GMLAN which is the car's communication bus. You should have a harness with an adapter (gmos04) which does the necessary communications and conversion to allow the chime to work through the car's factory amplifier (if that's the route you took). Some of those adapters have the ability to lower the volume of the chime. Check out post 7 in this thread;

Like you I replaced the stock ( non bose) with a Pioneer NEX-8000. Just thta change alone made the sound so much better. I added a stealth box with the JL 10w3v3 and love it. I will replace the door speakers with a component set to make the next leap i sound ( money is on power adders right now). You will be pleased
