need advice
I am looking to buy a black 2006 convertible vette, fully loaded with 20K miles, single owner, asking $32K--see below

I would trade in a 2005 silver coupe, glass roof, fully loaded but with 72K miles.
With the trade in, how much more would you give them in cash ??

just my 2 cents...$32k sounds a bit high for a convert..picked up an 11' GS with 7k miles for $39k...,not much dif in the two cars with your roof off...why not look for a newer one with the ls3 , and some other features your 06 doesn't have..

First, I don't know what your coupe is worth in your area---that's something you need to find out via all the sites, plus testing at used car lots, CarMax, etc.
Second, while I don't think a GS at $39K is comparable in price or car to an '06, the price paid may be of interest. For that reason, I do think the "spread" betw. an '11 and the '06 you are looking at is not enough, meaning, the '06 is too high for the year.
Finally, if you can "afford" a $32K Corvette (regardless of what your car is worth, and thus the cash you have to come up with), you can get a later model year imo. Keep looking, increase your range of search, and start learning more about the value of your car.
