Default removing seat cushion

Is there a way to remove the bottom seat cushion on a C6 without taking out the entire seat ?

Thank you

I wouldn't think so. There are too many items that must be removed/released in order to access the cushion. Taking the seat out of the car is actually the easiest part.

It would be impossible to get to all the attachment points of the upholstery...in fact I think it would be impossible to get to any of them.

No. With only 4 bolts and a few wires it is easy to take out. The cover is attached to the seat frame with hog rings. It takes good cutters and a strong hand to cut them. All the trim and seat controls need to come off to get the cover off.

In answer to your question....no. I tried removing the cover from one of my seats. After 2 hours, ended up taking it to an upholstery shop. There are several small pieces of the cover, its not just one or two big pieces. Lots of staples and D rings.

I actually watched that video on television a while back. I thought it looked pretty easy so I was going to do my own seats. The seat covers on my 06 are not made the same. Mine had 3 or 4 small pieces that covered up areas around the hinges. It was a pain.

On my previous '06 coupe, I replaced both seat covers (red/black) start to finish in about 2.5 hrs taking my time. Not that hard. Everyone in my Corvette club asked who did the amazing job...I said "me".

Covers were under $400 for both sides...

I worked out the little bit of wrinkling on the side bolster.

The top half of the seat could be removed and replaced with the seats in the car. The bottom half you would need to remove some hog rings and there is cord that ties the cover under the seat. Raise the seat up and take a look and if you feel like you can get to those items to remove and replace, then go for it.
