Lowes/Home Depot/local hardware store.
In my outfit we called it F-4 tape. And we used a lot of it.

Don't think any of us knew what its proper name or intended use was. Certainly not to cover bullet holes in high performance aircraft. But what ever it was it served our purpose as it almost always was still there when the bird returned.
Don't remember for sure but most likely nothing in the TO authorizing use.

Gorilla tape is as good or better than Duct tape. It comes in various colors.

We called it F-4 because we were using it on F-4s. When we had F-100s we called it F-100 tape.

You never know what is authorized for use. I can temporarily repairs cracks on the B-52's inlet guide vanes in the motor with tape until it can be welded.

Since you are repairing a convertible top would a fabric store have a sticky type of material. The other suggestion would be find a roofing place and get a material used to repair rubber roofs, it is very much like the stuff nascar teams use to make temporary repairs.
