Ugh...wtf is this...(picture)
While putting new brake pads this evening on I saw this:
This is at my rear passenger corner
My rotors have no cracks, using a digital caliper my rotors are almost new based on their thickness
...what is it and do I need a new one? Is that part of my hub? If the whole thing cracks apart would I lose my right rear wheel? Lol I drive in the canyons a lot now I'm paranoid
Pls halp corvetteforum

I believe I can drop the rotor off very easily once the caliper and caliper brackets are off, and then maybe bring it to a shop to inspect its inside to see if it needs to be replaced completely?
I have the Z51 rotors so dunno if my local autoparts store carries them. I know the drilled rotors tend to crack more on the track so I don't mind non-drilled rear rotors, but then my new rear rotors won't match my fronts

They'll have em, if not they can have them in a couple days. If when you get them off and there's a crack on the inside too it's junk. It should be easy to tell a crack from a casting issue.

[QUOTiousox;1588842166]Wow. I just got all four corners of Hawks HPS pads brand new sealed in box for $173 shipped and installed them myself for free
Ugh my rotors are almost new why the hell is the right rear corner cracked
That was their wish for rotors and all. Needless to say I got them all for a little more than 400.

Sure you can replace just the back rotors with out any issues. In fact you can just replace one if you want. Many times one rotor will be beyond it tolerance for turning and they will replace just that one rotor. I suggest that you replace it with the Z51 rotor as that is what it appears you have. Does your car have the Z51 performance option?

[QUOTiousox;1588845735]I got the car used so not sure...but should be factory
Would it be fine to run a set of new rear rotors and keep the old front rotors? Folks don't usually replace all four rotors at the same time do they?
It would be best to replace both rear, just to have the best possible balanced braking on the rear. You could do just the one to get by, but I would do both.

Also don't want to buy rotors that are too crazy like the DBA and KNS ones since I might sell the car in the next few months...
My car has long been out of warranty Thanks though I wish warranty could cover this
