Nice job on the projects. I also have the changing of my 06 console with something different. I may look at a wrap, or maybe paint a darker shade of gun metal gray. I'm also in the process of making the leather side pieces , like they have on the newer consoles. I think I can get mine to look exactly like those, with the yellow thread.
I can get the leather for around $40.00. I have the patterns cut out on bristol board, just have to add the leather.

thanks
would love to see how the leather pieces come out.
while knocking around in the garage I found I still have a roll of that 3m di-noc 1080 that I was going to try to install on the console last year. hmm...may not have to use it if I can get the hook up.

That's interesting. Is there a deal on the newer style to be had?
If not, let me know if you don't use the Di-Noc...I may be interested in buying from you.

Thanks

Your where not looking hard enough in the parts for sale forum.
Someone was selling pull off late model C6 airbags for around $100 in the last few weeks.

But the real question, beside the looks of the 05 steering wheel, do you feel that the slightly smaller steering wheel feels better than the old one. Trust is, the 05 steering wheel is the only one that was distant to the vet's, and lets face it, now you have a steering wheel out of a cobalt in the vet instead.

feels great to me. and uh...I don't care if it shares the wheel with a Yugo its what I wanted to install in my car.
btw...do you have an 05 wheel in your vett? If not, I will give you a good deal on the 05 wheel and air bag. pm me if interested.

scale of 1-10 with 10 being the most difficult...I'll give it a 3. the hardest part is removing the 05 airbag. it had 4 access holes where you have to release the bag latches and they can be a pain. but I can explain this process more in depth if you have difficulties.

Pretty straight forward, and comes down to being easy to do, or hard instead.

The steering wheel can either be a bear to remove and may need a steering wheel puller, or will pull right off instead.

If you need to go deeper to replace a bad steering column lock while you are in there (or pull the steering column lock apart to repair it instead).

How did you do the shifter? I'm definitely swapping to a '12 wheel (just missing the airbag) and if the shifter isn't too bad I might do that.

That looks sweet. Was the shifter plug and play?

pm member silas1234 as he has an airbag for sale.
the a6 shifter is a direct swap.

thanks...yes...plug and play.
note: you will only have D and OD and will lose 1&2.
do yourselves a favor and contact chuck CoW and have him tune that a4....you can thank me later.
