2009 fob battery changeout
I was looking to change my battery for my 2009 (not sure it needs it, but it's almost 6 years old and I bought a pack of 20 2032's an Amazon for $8), and there doesn't seem to be the little coin slot that most fobs have.
Taking the key out it looks like you could pry with a fairly large flat-tip screwdriver in the key slot, but I'm sorta afraid to do that. The darn thing looks like the 2 halves are glued together.
Anybody know the proper way of opening the fob cover? The Sticky for battery changeout only covers early years.

Yea, the key could work. I used a large flat blade screwdriver. Just be careful to pry on one side, I think it's the right side that worked for me. And yes, they are stuck together pretty well but use care and you'll be okay.

Cracking the case required some pressure ... felt like it was being destroyed. Snapping it back together needed a good bit of force too.

No matter the technique (look at the sticky at the top of the forum), make sure you are doing this when the case is warm. Much less chance of cracking the plastic.

I use a quarter to pry the FOB open on the Vette and the Cadillac. Turn clockwise if I remember right.
