Default Grand sport rear hash marks

Leaving my parking lot, I was hit/bumped from behind by a sweet little lady. Smashed my plate and frame, but worse put a 1/2" ding in the paint to the right of my license plate.
So I thought of this idea to cover the ding. I ordered the OEM Hashmarks same color as on the front of the car. I post these photos to get you all's opinion. Look good or gotta go?

That actually looks decent. It took me a second to spot them.

You may have just started the next fad.

For the same amount that you paid for those GM Hash Marks you could have had the 'nick' buffed out or repainted.

I'm ambivalent.

It doesn't look bad, but it really doesn't look good either.

If it were me, I'd have the repairs done.

I agree, it took me a minute to even see what you did.

My negligence led to a big scratch that could not be completely buffed out. I used it as the push I needed to blackout the back of the car (wanted to do it anyway). At first I was going to have vinyl put on but switched to plasti-dip instead. I am pretty happy with the results.

Not sure of what I think of your use of the stripes. The install is neat, clean and symmetrical. Having them there and their somewhat short length, make them seem kinda random. They would pop better if they were red, white or even silver.

I agree with most above, I would get it painted. Didn't the sweet little lady have insurance? If you would have bumped her, yours would have paid, i"ll bet.

The blacked out rear fascia is one of my all-time favorite cosmetic "mods".

If I may suggest, consider swapping out your red hash marks on the front panels to black. It will certainly tie the front to the rear much better, IMHO of course. And get them windows tinted (darker anyways) Haha

I am amazed how many quick responses are in! So far 9 say gotta go and only 2 say looks ok! I get the message, thank you all for chiming in. I did not mention that where I live (Cabo San Lucas) there are no paint shops that I trust to let touch my car. That is why I'm trying to find a different solution.

Uh, have you had any thing painted lately, unless those 'Stripes' cost around a grand no way. It's absurd what it costs to have paint work done.
I got one dent on my tailgate of my truck and told them I would take it off and bring it there and they could keep it, 3 places, $700.
