What kind of paint did you use? Does it have to be high-temperature paint?

I used high temp engine paint. Makes a big difference especially if they are rusty.

Your rotors look very nice, great job. I have powder coated and painted various sets of rotors. Powder coating is the best way to go because of the durability but using caliper paint will give you a very nice heat proof finish for not much money. if you go to all the trouble of removing the rotors I would go the extra mile and powder coat. Anything looks better than the dull and rough OEM zink finish.

Thanks Ya'all for the comments. Dealer Product, and your correct High Temp. Powder Coat was another option. Thought about OEM Yellow Caliper's as there were only 30 some equipt with my color opt. in 2012.

Any advise on the cost to powder coat the calipers !

glad you brought it up because i'm going to have my yellow calibers painted red as soon as the weather breaks. this place near me in east stroudsburg wants $700 to paint them. good deal or not? i also bought the Z06 wheels for my 013 base and was thinking of having the barrels painted black. the performance shop manager told me to keep them as is and put the hawk ceramic pads on due to it saving me money rather than painting the wheels. your thoughts on this one.

Is black harder to clean up than grey? Black on black vette--sure don't want to add any more rubbing!

He's right - that's a good idea. I'm gonna try to keep this one bone Stock. $700 bucks is a better investment then those silly looking clip-on's by you know who ! Always had to fashion my own rear clip.

He wants $700.00 to PAINT them? That is insane! There are forum vendors that will powder coat and replace the piston seals for about $400. If you paint them yourself It will cost you less than $20 and will turn out great if you follow the simple instructions and use a little common since. Simply use Dupli-Color or VHT caliper paint available at almost any auto parts store. Getting them clean is the main issue to a good paint job. I prefer the spray method but you must mask anything off that you don't want red and you must cover the car with plastic to keep the paint drift off the horizontal panels of the car. You can also use the brush method but I don't think the end result is as good.
