Default Fuel Rail covers LS7/LS2

Does anyone know if they are the same size? Looking to add a little spice under the hood on my ls2 and need to know if the length and width are the same or close to the same. So if you own an ls7 and dont mind measuring yours id greatly appreciate it.

Fwiw i know the passenger side on ls2 has oil fill that i will likely have to cut a hole for in the ls7 covers.

So let me get this straight, you have an LS2, but if LS7 FRC will be a direct fit (minus the oil cap mod) you want to install them on your car. WHY???

Why not? Adds to the show quality and most unknowing vette guys will never know. Obviously when I sell I'll return it to stock.

That would kind of make you a poser don't you think? Just paint your LS2 fuel rail covers red.

So you're willing to pull your fuel rail covers off every time you check or change your oil? You think those snaps are going to last forever being pulled off and on? Sorry, my LS7 is under wraps for another few weeks. Can't help you.

cuz, he wants the "unknowing" to think he has an LS7. cuz he feels small with an LS2, and they say the old guys are trying to make up for something.

To the "unknowing Vette guys" the letters and number will mean absolutely nothing. They will have no idea that the covers aren't stock.

The "knowing Vette guys" will know you don't have a 427, and will know that you just changed the covers.

Why stop there? Why not get some bogus 427 badges to stick on the side of the car? With a set of repro-wheels, I'm sure those "unknowing Corvette guys" will be very impressed. Meanwhile, those of us who know better will just know you're a poser.

But as always, it's your car. Do whatever makes YOU happy.

This is exactly what I was thinking. The "unknowing"will have no idea what an LS2 or LS7 is anyway so why is this good for shows? If you want red, paint them or buy red LS2 covers.

I honestly only WANT other Corvette owners opinions when it comes to shows. Why are you trying to impress guys who don't know what they're looking at? And Corvette guys are going to laugh at you and talk about you behind your back. You own a Vette. Be proud of what you have and make it the best you can with what you have instead of pretending to be something you're not. You'll just end up embarrassing yourself and getting mad when people laugh at you.

OP .....

Don't spend all your money on those silly LS7 covers .... Get yourself a 'Pratt & Whitney' aircraft engine decal and put it on the fuel rail cover ... Tell everyone that you have a WWII surplus engine out of a B-29 in your Corvette.

That WILL impress them !

Nah badges on the outside are trashy. I bet when I'm done modifying and getting them to mount right i may fool some knowing guys. How would you know i didn't buy a ls7 and drop it in my base?

And i am very proud of what i have. I'm very successful and young. I've busted my rear thru school so i can enjoy life now. Better yet i have no debt.

So, I take it you weren't too impressed with my suggestion for aircraft engine decals?

Lol ummm no. I wasn't in the military and i respect those who have served my country and wouldn't ever want to impose that i could ever fly like them. But God bless our soldiers for protecting us so we can enjoy some American made muscle.

Well that's nice, kid, but I don't think you'll find anyone here who isn't going to find it pathetic. I'm also young, successful, and have worked hard, since that matters to you. Again, your car, your choices.

You're also going to want to redo the intake manifold runner cuts; they different from 2/3 to 7.

Are you really? Because you are trying make people think you have something more than what you have.

If you are truly proud of what you have, be proud of it instead of trying to mask it into looking like something else.

If i wanted a z06 i could've bought one. That's no issue. I actually bought the car for gas mileage. Bc 26 is better than my truck at 11/12 and i make frequent trips to airport that's 2.5 hr away. Hence i bought ls2 versus ls3. This is a weekend driver or sunny day trip to the airport only. Never seen the track and never will. Have no need for ls7.

I see it this way;
Anyone with half a brain can tell the sound of a big block vs a small block. No one will be fooled for long.
Secondly, let's say some moron believes you have a LS7 in your car, and wants to play to see how his LS3 with some bolt ons can hang with you. Then he pulls you and tells his buddies he can stomp on a LS7 with his LS3 with a few bolt ons. Now you have disgraced and misrepresented the LS7! All for what?
Like it has been said, customize your LS2 covers if you want to spice up your engine bay, but don't be a poser.
Also, I don't think the LS2 gets much better gas mileage than a LS3. What...about 2 miles per gallon maybe? The LS2 car is a cheaper car with less hp...end of story. No reason for you to justify not getting an LS3 car other than saving money.
So make us proud and customize those LS2 covers!
