Default Air filter broken tab

Hi,

I have a 2007 vert, and while replacing the air filters (closed system - air filter on each side)... when I was trying to clamp the housing I guess it wasn't placed properly and the plastic tab broke on the air intake side when I tried to clamp it. The clamp is fine but the plastic part it clamps to broke.

There are 2 clamps per filter housing so the other one is clamped into place. Do you think I'll need to replace the air intake part where the tab broke or should one clamp be ok to hold it in place?

I have an appointment at GM next week for oil change so I will ask them but I'm sure they'll say to replace it...
Just wanted some other opinions...
Thanks...

Yep, I'm sure duct tape will work...

I've been looking online, and it appears that the air filter housing parts are now discontinued...
Might be time to replace the air intake system with a better one... Now the search for which one of the so many that are out there!

I'm sure I'll find one.

If it is the alignment tab... an unstressed part.
Orchard Supply/ Home Depot sell a two part epoxy hard plastic glue.
That might work followed by a little flat black paint to blend/hide the repair.

You may be OK, but I would try gluing and if that failed I'd try to find a replacement part on my vette.
