[RANT] So I go to the local Stealership...
AutoNation is the largest Vette dealer in the area. As I am in the market to swap out of my Vert and I am looking for a Coupe. They have a few C7's and only one C6. So I take one of the 2LT C7's for a test ride. I liked it. But they would only take $1k off MSRP while the forum vendors take 10-11% off MSRP!.
Then they offer me $10K below what private sellers offered me for my Vert as a trade-in.
Now the Stealership calls to tell me it is the end of the month and the manager is willing to make crazy deals. So I call the Stealership back to jerk his chain and said, give me 11% off MSRP and $9K more for my trade and I'll come in and pick up my new Vette. "Oh, the Chevy dealers up north can sell vettes for less than GM permits us in Florida."
I guess they think we are all just stupid?

Go to CarMax, trade it in and get the check. Then call Tommy.

This takes no intelligence whatsoever.
Take the money offered by the "private buyers" and go buy from a forum dealer.
Just because a smaller dealer can't justify selling at "Kerbeck" prices does not mean they are a "stealership" .
These are the same type of buyers that cry over the poor service they receive when they take their bargain priced purchases to the local dealer for service.
They expect the dealer to make NO money on the sale and still treat them like they are something special.

Dealerships are there to make money. That's how they stay in business, just go to a forum vender from now on and see how good you'll do. Our cars aren't really a hot commodity right now, especially when trading them in for what's hot now (C7). I wouldn't expect squat at a dealership for a C6 right now, especially trading it in on a C7.
