The Delco batteries have served me well in all my vettes and have been long lasting. I never ever have used a battery maintainer and sometimes I have 2 or 3 vettes at the same time so some may sit a month or more without being started. I never have had a dead battery or one failing to start yet with my Delco's.

I replaced the original battery in my 2007 convert with a 6 year Delco Professional from my local chevy dealer and it ran me about $85 out the door.

I just replaced my battery in my 07 vert with a AC Delco. Went to dealer, and was told that Delco doesn't make 6 yr batteries anymore.
All they make is the 30 month full replacement battery. Cost $130 including tax.

Since I had to call AAA for a jump start anyway, I used the AAA battery service with their replacement battery.

This info comes straight from the AC Delco parts website in regards to battery warranties.

Delco offers batteries with 5, 6 and 7 year warranties to consumers who purchase a battery, the warranty they quoted is for the battery that came with the car when new. I paid $85 out the door for the 6 year Delco battery that I bought at the chevy dealers parts counter here in Tucson.

Quote from the link below:

"Frequently Asked Questions
What is the warranty on the battery that came with my vehicle? It says that it has a six-year warranty.
The battery that comes with a GM vehicle or is replaced under warranty is covered by the limited warranty of three years or 36,000 miles (48 months/4 years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first, for Cadillac, Buick and HUMMER) and should be taken back to the GM dealership. The six-year warranty is for the consumer who purchased the battery; the battery should be returned to the place of purchase or any ACDelco battery retailer with the receipt."

I got the one from WalMart because if service is ever needed, there will be one nearby and it will likely be open. It's a battery made by Johnson Controls, like many other brands, and it works fine. Delco doesn't manufacture batteries and neither does Interstate or Autozone. Those are just nametags.

Very good info. Thanks for posting. My battery is 5 years old....OEM and will be replaced by a Delco.

But since we are on the subject, yesterday I was at the Long Beach Grand Prix and talked to a Optima Rep. I mentioned to him that I have seen many posts here concerning Optimas quality since they started coming out of Mexico. He said that the quantiles built in the U.S. was low when compared to Mexico. (I am guessing labor here was to high). In Mexico they produce quanties MUCH higher than the U.S. was producing. With the higher production numbers more failures will result. But they are getting it sorted out....so he says. Seems like I still hear guys having issues.
Just though I would throw that out.....

I just replaced factory battery in my 2008 coupe. It was still going strong. Just did not want to push it. So I went with another ACDelco.

I replaced the original in my 2009 last summer with a Duralast Platinum from Autozone. So far, so good.

cc is correct,,,mostly just nametags make up the selling outlets so-called brand names. Only a few companies make nearly all of the batteries.....3 U.S. companies I've heard. Many batteries are now being made in China and other Asian countries.. New cars come with "fresh" batteries, which usually last longer... Replacement batteries come from large warehouses, where batteries can sit for a year or more before being shipped out... If possible, check the stamping dates on the battery you are purchasing for replacement.

Part of the problem with the Vette and its electrical gremlins is its crappy OEM alternator my Volts are now 14.6 steady....
Before my alternator had a whine ...and my battery voltage was in the mid 13s to low 13s....

My OEM Delco also lasted 6+ years so can't really complain.

I have an Optima Red Top now and have never had any problems with these, I have several in different vehicles/boat.

You need a Battery Tender regardless of what battery you get if you want it to have a long life in your C6. CTEK, Deltran and Schumacher are all good brands.

Whatever you decide on, buy it from a battery 'specialist' like Budget Batteries. With their higher turnover the batteries haven't been sitting on the shelf forever.
