Default Thinking of Selling 2013 Grand Sport-Input on Price Please

Hi Everyone,

I am the proud owner of a 2013 Grand Sport 2LT with 9k miles. I am the original owner, the car was purchased from Forum Vendor MacMulkin and shipped to Orlando via enclosed trailer with Intercity Lines. The car is Torch Red with black wheels and badges. The interior is black, and it has a six speed manual transmission. The car is optioned nicely with NPP Exhaust, HUD, Navi, ZR1 spoiler, red calipers, etc...FWIW, I have gotten more compliments on this car than my two previous yellow Z06's combined. I have both key fobs, all owners manuals, window stickers, build sheet, etc...and a clear Florida title in hand.

I took delivery of the car on July 2nd, 2013, and it has been a weekend cruiser her whole life. I have never peeled out, taken her to a dragstrip, street raced, etc...The car is bone stock except I replaced the stock shifter with a Callaway short shifter, and I also put ceramic brake pads on to lessen the brake dust issues with the stock pads. I also put clear bra on the rear fenders. With the exception of the clear bra, all work was done by Keith Cummings, dedicated corvette mechanic at Courtesy Chevy here in Orlando. The car has had all oil changes done by Keith including the first at 500 miles. As you likely know, the car still has approximately 14 months bumper to bumper warranty and the 5/100 powertrain warranty.

The only issues with the car are that she is in need of new tires (rears are just about worn out, fronts have some tread left), and there is a small scratch near the bottom of the passenger door that has been touched up. The scratch is literally impossible to see unless you are squatting or laying down beside the car.

I am thinking of selling the car to get into a C7 or some other weekend cruiser and was hoping for opinions on what the car was worth. I plan to sell the vehicle private party to another Corvette enthusiast rather than taking her to Carmax or a dealer. I am thinking she is worth around $42k, but I'd appreciate thoughts on what you think the car is worth as impartial observers. Thanks in advance, and I look forward to your responses.

Bill

Not sure what the answer is, but I also got a 2013 GS 6-speed coupe (silver, black interior and 3LT) from MacMulkin on June 30, 2013, 2 days earlier than you. Will be interested in the responses. Good luck

That seems like a reasonable price. Check Buyavette's website. I understand they are more of retail pricing but one can factor that in. Just gives a sense of real-world pricing. Dealer auction pricing (more difficult to obtain) gives a good picture as well. I recently sold my 2010 GS. I consigned it with Buyavette. I posted here for a couple of weeks but after a few inquiries I simply decided I did not want to deal with what I perceive as the hassles of selling the car and, ultimately, verifying payment. I probably left $1000 or $1500 on the table as to what I could have gotten otherwise but it sold in two weeks, I got my number, no muss no fuss. Anyway, guess I digressed...sorry.

Mine too is a 13 GS 2LT, 6mz, NPP, Nav, but with chromies and $900 option CRM paint, also from MacMulkin, weekends and 8000 miles and I'd say OP is priced about right. If someone offered me 45k, I think I'd take it and go buy a C7 Z06.

IN MY AREA, $42k is low...more like $48-50. In your area? You need to check it out.

I've been looking at GS coupes and $42 seems to be an attractive price. I've been looking at mainly 3LT because I thought it had to be to get the goodies like HUD & Nav. What is yours missing from a 3LT?

Nix on the C7 for me, not attracted to them, Z06 is probably more than I would want in both power and trouble from what I have read.
My 2011 GS 3LT A6 is working out just be just fine.
BTW it doesn't have NAV but it doesn't matter to me, all other options are there though.

Default Try CarMax

Just to get a sense of where the market is for your car. I am thinking $40k retail, probably 38-39 trade in.

what? ebay is asking about $49 grand for a 012 3lt centennial gs with 11000 on the clock. for a 013 he should be able to get at least, $43 or $44. i was given $38 grand for my base 2lt on a trade in about a month ago.

42-44 all depends on what someone is looking to pay. Trade in and you will get bent over.

The C6 Nav is more useless than windshield wipers. You arent missing anything.

And, uh, 650 HP on the C7 Z06. C'mon man!

IMO, $45,000-$45,500 (NADA value in my area) would seem reasonable. Mine is a '13' 3lt, with less than 4000 miles, and I wouldn't take anything less than $48,000 for it. I like it too much.

$42 should sell very fast, it's a good 5-8k cheaper than you should expect a fair price to be. Someone could buy it at $42 and flip it for a profit with ease.

I have the exact same car as you (2LT) also bought from MacMulkin in April of 2013 except I have the chrome wheels and two tone interior. Your price of $42K sounds reasonable for sure.
