Xm box location (roof holders need removing?)
I understand the XM box is located behind the drivers seat, by the left rear wheel well. To get to it, do I need to remove my targa top roof
holders. If so, how do they come off? I don't want to pull and break something.

Yes, that is the correct location. I've never done it, but the guy who installed my aftermarket radio did, and he didn't take any targa top hardware off. Not sure how he did it, but he just popped the panel off (the one with the rear speaker grill). It wasn't complex at all.

The XM module is located behind the carpet.
Just pull the carpet back, and you will either see, or the connector to install it.
As for the XM antenna, on the 2005, it was mounted on top of the halo (we call them the halo wart), while on later models, the antenna is mount in the side view mirror instead to keep it out of sight.
2005 halo wart, and not where you want to mount the antenna if you are installing a new OEM system.
As for a good place to mount the antenna that would come with a SIR-gm1 if you are installing that OEM kit, some have mounted in the void of the rear fender cover instead.
