I've tried various products...IMHO...I couldn't tell the difference between them. Turtle Wax Chrome Polish; Simichrome; Wheel Wax...in every case the wheels came out great. None stood out any better than the other...I would guess that you can go out and buy an over the counter chrome polish and be totally satisfied....good luck!!

Polish and wax are two totally different products. If these are new wheels all you need is a good coat of wax. Polish is used to bring back the shine and wax is to protect the finish. They make a chrome polish, but again if new not needed.

You can polish true chrome wheels first and then best to "seal" or "coat" versus wax. You want to use care in the polish used, to make sure you get the best results and avoid any damage. (ie. painted wheels should NOT be polished with metal polishes)

Here's great results from chrome wheels:

1. Use Griots Chrome Wheel Cleaner (and Detail Brush)
2. Polish with chrome polish (optional step)
3. Coat with Gtechnics Wheel Armor or other Metal Coating

A coating last longest and often ceramic, a sealant is a synthetic wax and can handle higher heat versus wax. Waxes cannot handle high heat and will wear off quickly on wheels specifically.

Do you have the same opinion on the care of polished wheels?

High polished OEM wheels are actually clear-coated and should be treated as paint. They will never be quite as bright as chrome wheels, but can look terrific with a little care. You would not use metal polishes on paints due to the higher solvents, and same goes for painted wheels.

1. Griots Wheel Cleaner (not chrome version) or P21S Wheel Cleaner
==always use brushes around lugs and wheel barrels
2. Polish using paint polishes, like those used on your finish and painted surfaces
3. Protect with a good sealant (Rejex) or coating (GTechnic)

I have new chrome wheels, and use Meguiar's Wash and Wax for the whole car. When the car gets its next wax, I was going to use Gold Class+Carnauba, which is my favorite wax. Would a synthetic wax, rather than the GC, do a better job on the wheels? Or do you recommend only a sealant? The car is never driven in bad weather, so the worst the wheels ever get is dusty. Thanx.

I have the chrome spilt spokes on my '13 and I wax them with Meguiar's Ultimate and then use Adam's Mirror Glaze and they look great!

Do not put wax on chrome! Chrome finish is a porous metal covering. It should not be sealed with a wax. It is not like paint. Use a chrome polish only.

When I was buying new 15 spoke polished aluminum and coated GM wheels I posed a similar question and 3 out of 4 responses was for Rejex. Used it, loved it, now I do the whole car with it. Wonderful stuff!

A traditional wax (carnauba) cannot handle the high heat that wheels see and thus is gone almost immediately. A sealant (aka synthetic wax) can indeed handle more heat and keep wheels protected. The most advanced protection to date is a coating and one application easily protects for a year. Best part, when wheels are properly protected only soap and water are needed for cleanup.

OK, checked your site. Mothers Chrome Polish or Wheel Wax? The wheels are brand new, obviously don't need cleaning and will never really get dirty, but I want max shine after washing and easy dust removal. Any other suggestions would be welcome. How about a power ball with the Mothers? Or do you recommend simply using synth wax or sealant? Love your site, btw. Thanx!

Chrome doesn't get clear coated, polished aluminum does. PA would tarnish very quickly without the coating.
